The Cosmo - International School of Southern Denmark opened its doors on September 1,2008. The Cosmo welcomes students from the ever-growing international community in Southern Denmark as well as Danish students who seek an international education.
The Cosmo is a recognized Cambridge International Centre; it was certified by the University of Cambridge in 2008. The teachers comprised of both native English speakers and Danes alike, are accredited by the University of Cambridge
In the 2010-2011 academic year, The Cosmo has a student body comprised of student from 20 nations around the world including: Bulgaria, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, Lithuania, Morocco, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sudan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States of America and Vietnam.
The Cosmo has a student capacity of 150 students. The language of instruction is Englisg except, naturally, for foreign language classes. All students have four Danish lessons per week. Students in the Lower Secondary and IGCSE programmes also choose French, German or Spanish as a second language.
The Mission Statement of The Cosmo sets out the school's purpose, aims and philosophy, all of which are academic in tone and international in spirit.
The Cosmo is a private non-profit organization recognized by the Danish Ministry of Education.
